Designed after the iconic dug out canoes of the West Coast, this canoe was built at the request of local coastal pacific First Nations and built with input from friend and master canoeist, Stephen Recalma from Qualicum First Nations. This canoe was designed specifically to allow each canoe family to a-fix their own animal totem to the bow. All of our Coastal Canoes come standard with our one piece extruded aluminum gunnels giving maximum strength and durability with the lowest weight. The Coastal 36′ is built with integral skipper seat and additional Recalma guide seat allowing for multi position paddling depending on sea state. This is the most stable coastal big canoe on the market so that canoe families can facilitate maximum involvement.
